Orphaned Nation was created by Zachary Williams in order to share travel advice and opinions on visiting some of the world's most spectacular destinations as an independent backpacker. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he quickly came to realize that there was a big world waiting outside of the United States. While living in countries such as Vietnam, China, Nepal and Taiwan, Zack continues to travel, write, and explore some of the world's most out of reach places. At the Chiaotung University of Hakka Studies is one of the biggest collection of traditional Hakka homes in all of Taiwan. The Lin family has lived in Zhubei, Hsinchu as early as 1735.
